(Via AZ Big Media) MacQueen & Gottlieb, PLC (M&G) today announced the hiring of Carrie Thompson Jones as the firm’s newest attorney. Thompson Jones joins M&G from her own practice, where she has counseled and advised entrepreneurs and innovators in the tech venture and startup business space.  Prior to her work in that field, she worked with a regional firm dedicated to representing community associations.  She chaired the firm’s business and financial services practice group and, in that capacity, drafted regulatory compliance policies and procedures to bring such a firm into compliance with regulations governing national financial institutions and the default-servicing of mortgage loans.

Thompson Jones has also previously enjoyed practicing with the firms Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer; Zieve, Brodnax, & Steele; and Aldridge Pite, where her practice areas included real estate, business, financial services litigation, and transactional law.

She earned her Juris Doctorate from the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University in 2009 with a variety of honors including an externship with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security; serving as a founding member and a director on the executive board of the International Law Students Association; participating in ASU’s innovative and multi-disciplinary Tech Ventures Services Group; acting as a judge on the team in preparation for the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition; and serving as a fellow and honorary student member of the Phoenix Committee on Foreign Relations, among others. Prior to law school, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Kennedy Center for International Studies at Brigham Young University in International Relations, where she focused on Political Science and Arabic Studies.
